Allar, considered a potential first-round NFL draft pick, was injured while scrambling for a first down. He had to be helped off the field, and former head coach James Franklin confirmed after the game that the injury was season-ending. Redshirt freshman Ethan Grunkemeyer took over for the final drive, which resulted in a turnover on downs, securing Northwestern’s 22-21 upset victory.
