Altoona officers were dispatched to the Sheetz at 6th Avenue around 3:00 yesterday morning, following reports of an armed robbery. The suspect, Daniel Adams Sr., reportedly entered the store and proceeded behind the employee counter, where he began removing cartons of cigarettes from the shelves. When an employee confronted him, Adams allegedly claimed to have a gun and told the employee to stay away. About 30 minutes later Adams was located by officers while sitting in a parked vehicle at his home. Police report that a BB gun was found in Adams’ waistband. Adams was transported to Central Booking and is to face charges that include robbery, terroristic threats, and other related counts.
