A fuel tanker overturned in northern Blair County on Friday afternoon, injuring the driver and spilling a small amount of fuel. The crash, which occurred around 12:30 p.m. on South Eagle Valley Road in the Tyrone area, resulted in a multi-hour road closure. Reportedly, Bald Eagle Volunteer Fire Company, emergency crews, and good Samaritans worked together to promptly rescue the driver, who was then taken to UPMC Altoona. Local hazmat teams assisted fire officials in quickly containing the spill. Cleanup closed the road for several hours.
