Altoona Police have arrested a city man accused of pulling a handgun and threatening another man. Thirty-four-year-old James Anthony Purcell, was charged with illegal firearm possession and making terroristic threats after an incident on the 1100 block of 14th Avenue. Purcell, who was arraigned on Sunday, is being held on $75,000 bail, in the Blair County Prison. Investigators report that Purcell became involved in an argument between a female friend and her ex-husband. He is alleged to have yelled threats, pointed a handgun at the ex-husband from a vehicle, and then pursued him outside. Purcell’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 22nd.
