Johnstown City Council is strengthening security with a designated press area and considering metal detectors and extra security personnel. This comes after a man was arrested for disruptive behavior during a recent meeting. In a related change, Deputy Mayor Sylvia King addressed citizen complaints about feeling “a little unnerving” and finding it “quite rude” to be recorded up close, noting that the council will now restrict camera use. City officials are hoping with these new security measures in place, residents will feel safe in voicing their concerns during council meetings.
