A multi-million dollar repair project for the Johnstown Inclined Plane has concluded, and the final 30-day state inspection began on Monday. The inspection is being performed by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, and PennDOT’s State Safety Oversight Division. All systems, including the brakes and propulsion, will be thoroughly tested to ensure they function safely. While scheduled to last 30 days, the inspection could be completed sooner. This review is the final step before the Inclined Plane can potentially reopen to the public.
