Thirty-eight-year-old Colleen Rose Sayegh of Williamsburg pled guilty yesterday to felony neglect of a care-dependent person, receiving a sentence of 15 months to 18 years in a state correctional facility. The plea was entered in Blair County Court, after a last-minute submission of a 133-page medical report from Geisinger Health led to the cancellation of her jury trial. The charges stemmed from the death of Sayegh’s care-dependent mother in July 2022. State police were called when the victim, who had previously suffered a stroke, was diabetic, and wheelchair-bound, arrived at a hospital in deplorable condition. According to the criminal complaint, the victim was covered in urine and feces, suffering from severe dehydration and open, infected wounds. In addition to her prison sentence, Sayegh was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
