Democratic Senator John Fetterman says he would support Republicans overriding the Senate filibuster to reopen the government. As the shutdown drags into its third week, the Pennsylvania senator is not opposed to GOP lawmakers resorting to the so-called nuclear option. Republicans could nuke the filibuster and let a House-passed funding measure advance the Senate with a simple-majority vote. Fetterman told reporters “there’s no winners here” and noted that the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is running out of money as people “need to eat.”
