A Centre County man, Garrett Singer of Howard, has been sentenced in connection with a body found decomposing at his former funeral home. Singer, the previous owner of the Singer-Kader-Neff Funeral Home, was given a sentence of 30 days to 23 and a half months, with the initial 30 days under house arrest. Charges were filed earlier this year after a coroner notified state police of a severely unsanitary funeral home preparation room in December 2024, reporting a strong odor, and a body on a table that appeared to have been there for a significant amount of time, without ever having been refrigerated. Singer was also ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
