A 58-year-old Saxton man is behind bars after allegedly beating, chocking and threatening to kill a woman at a home in Huntingdon County. Arrested was Harry Messner, who reportedly assaulted the woman multiple times last Friday. Reportedly, the round of assaults started after Messner became angry over the woman’s use of syrup, which generated an argument that led to physical violence. Messner was taken into custody last Friday afternoon, and charged by state police with strangulation, terroristic threats, and other related counts. He has been placed in the Huntingdon County Prison in lieu of bail. His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for November 5th.
