Contracting and Roofing Firm Sued By PA AG

A western Pennsylvania-based home improvement contractor and its owner are facing a lawsuit filed by Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday.  The lawsuit accuses A&S Contracting & Roofing, LLC, of New Alexandria, and owner Stephen Spallone, of violating the state’s Consumer Protection Law and Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act.  According to the Attorney General’s office, A&S Contracting and Spallone are alleged to have abandoned home improvement projects after collecting over $56,000 in customer deposits.  The legal action also claims the company used contracts that did not comply with state regulations.  The lawsuit aims to permanently bar A&S Contracting & Roofing from operating as a home improvement contractor in Pennsylvania.  It also seeks to recover full restitution for affected consumers, along with civil penalties and legal costs.  The Attorney General’s office encourages anyone who believes they may have been a victim of A&S Contracting & Roofing’s business practices to file a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection online, or call 1-800-441-2555.
