In school board elections, a new member will be joining the Altoona Area School Board. Unofficial results show Val Mignogna leading, followed by Kelly Irwin Adams, and Stephanie McGinnis. The fourth seat was eventually won by newcomer Republican Bryant Giselman. During Tuesday’s election, the Hollidaysburg Area School District board saw a significant change, with President Carmen Bilek securing a second four-year term while three new members were also elected. According to unofficial results, Bilek, a Republican, will be joined by Republican Cara Eardley, and candidates Jesse Blank and Joseph Antonowicz, both of whom ran on the Republican and Democratic tickets. In Spring Cove, two newcomers, one incumbent and one previous board member were elected. Those candidates include Erika Smith, Alyssa McGregor, Amy Acker-Knisely and Samantha Snowberger.
