A group of UPMC Altoona employees are demanding better safety measures and increased staffing levels at the hospital following an alleged violent incident in which a patient care technician, identified as Travis Dunn, was attacked by a patient on Saturday morning. In a statement released after the reported altercation, the union-representing nurses and workers voiced their support for the victim and his loved ones. The statement called on greater safety measures and safer staffing levels to help prevent such attacks in the future. In a show of solidarity, fellow healthcare workers mentioned they have organized a GoFundMe campaign to provide financial support for Dunn. Forty-year-old Bradley Lloyd of Tyrone is facing numerous charges for the attack. He has been placed in the Blair County Prison where bail has been denied.
