The newly established Trail, Park and Recreation Authority will enable Blair County to make significant investments in developing new outdoor recreation assets. Unveiled yesterday morning at the Hollidaysburg Municipal Building, the nine-member governing board, composed of local government and business leaders, will reportedly coordinate the development of Blair County parks and trails. The authority’s primary goal is to significantly expand the county’s administrative capacity to oversee major projects, such as the construction of new ATV trails, walking paths, and other recreational assets. Officials believe the creation of this new authority will also attract people to neighboring counties as well.
