An Everett woman is facing animal cruelty charges after allegedly neglecting her 5-month-old puppy to the extent that it became paralyzed and developed severe sores. Police in Everett, began investigating 27-year-old Torrie Robison, after receiving a report from the Bedford County Humane Society on November 5. The humane society had been contacted by Mountain View Animal Emergency in Maryland, where medical staff were treating the injured dog. According to the criminal complaint, the puppy arrived with lacerations across its body and was unable to use its back legs due to muscle atrophy. Robison allegedly told staff the injuries occurred after the dog became trapped under a cage for an undetermined amount of time. Robison has been charged with neglect and cruelty to animals. She was arraigned yesterday, and subsequently released on $10,000 unsecured bail. The puppy was given over to the Bedford County Humane Society.
