Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman voted with Senate Republicans last night to pass a funding measure, marking a major step toward reopening the government. Fetterman was one of eight Senate Democrats to join Republicans in advancing the measure, which includes a stopgap to fund the rest of the government through January 30th. Fetterman has broken with his party to vote in favor of the funding measure all 15 times it’s been raised in the Senate during the 40-day shutdown. He said after the vote “It should’ve never come to this. This was a failure.”
