A 25-year-old State College resident faces multiple charges, including felony aggravated assault and DUI, after allegedly causing a serious four-vehicle collision near Bellefonte on Saturday afternoon. Authorities report that the crash seriously injured a 12-year-old child. Arrested and charged was Esmanbek Umarov. According to Spring Township police, the accident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on the 800 block of Pleasantview Boulevard/Route 144. Umarov, is accused of attempting to pass another vehicle in a designated no-passing zone. His SUV allegedly crossed into the opposing lane, where it collided head-on with a car occupied by an adult female driver, and the injured juvenile passenger. Reportedly, the child was flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Umarov has been placed in the Centre County Prison, where bail has been denied. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 19th.
