Northern Lights Seen In PA

The Northern Lights were visible in parts of the state last night, including Blair County.  The aurora borealis was brought to the region by what NOAA is calling a severe geomagnetic storm.  Officials say a solar flare has sent energy toward Earth, pushing the phenomenon further south.  The Northern Lights occur when the sun’s plasma interacts with the Earth’s magnetic field.  The Northern Lights may be visible through Friday.
