Following a welfare check in Huntingdon County, a 7-month-old infant was placed into Child and Youth Services custody, and two individuals were charged in connection with the incident. According to a police affidavit, officers responded to an apartment where they found the baby’s mother, 18-year-old Raelynn Anderson of Six Mile Run, highly intoxicated and unable to provide care for the child. Authorities determined that no one in the home was in a condition to look after the infant. Both Anderson and 49-year-old Ronald Leonard Jr., the resident of the apartment, were arrested and committed to the Huntingdon County Prison in lieu of bail. Anderson faces charges including endangering the welfare of a child, purchasing alcohol as a minor, and other related counts. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 19th. Leonard’s charges include endangering the welfare of a child, possession with intent to deliver, and corruption of minors, among others.
