Hollidaysburg residents will face a property tax increase next year after the Borough Council approved a 0.15 millage hike dedicated to park rehabilitation projects. This marks the first such increase in over five years, raising the Parks and Recreation millage rate from 0.63 to 0.78. The additional revenue is designated to fund approximately $316,000 in urgent maintenance at the borough’s six parks:
- Canal Basin Park
- Sweet Cherry Court
- Chimney Rocks Park
- Quince Court Park
- Kelly Park
- Mattern Orchard Park
For homeowners, this translates to an extra $15 annually for a property valued at $100,000, and an additional $30 per year for a $200,000 property.
