Homegrown Rocker Playlist/Recap 10/19/25

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the October 19 edition of “The Homegrown Rocker,” which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock (www.q94classicrock.com), and from 10 PM to midnight on 107.1 and 101.3 Jack FM (www.1071jack.fm)!

We took a breather from our busy schedule of musical guests and specials to catch up with the new local and regional music recordings that have arrived in the “Homegrown Rocker” mailboxes in recent weeks – meaning that we debuted lots of new area music on our latest program!  Along the way, we debuted new songs from Spacepoet, Kitchen Teeth, The Shiners, Ken Werner with Abigail Lapell, The Unbounded Middle, Black Ridge, Toy the Band, Pariah Prism, Patrick Motto and Man In Reverse! We also updated “Local Music News,” dug out a 1999 song by Acid Reflux for this week’s “Local Music Flashback,” and stepped “Across State Lines” to hear new music from Rochester, New York Celtic punk rockers 1916! (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94’s website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on “The Professor’s Classroom,” and then scroll down to “Homegrown Rocker Podcast” and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 101925.)

Benefits and other special shows dominate our look at “Local Music News” this week…

A special benefit will take place in early November to help out an area musician in need. “A Great Day of Music to Benefit Adam D” will take place on Sunday, November 2 at Altoona’s Unter Uns Musical and Entertainment Society, with proceeds helping out longtime area musician Adam D – Adam DiFlaviano – as he battles a serious health situation. The event will run from noon until 8 p.m., and will feature performances from The Backyard Rockers, The Bomb Cyclones, Felix & the Hurricanes, Bone Jacked, DD & the Pub Crawlers, Half Tempted and 7th Virtue. There will also be a basket raffle and 50/50’s all day, plus food will be available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting Adam D.

AnEmergencyScene and the Brass Factory are presenting a special concert event on Thanksgiving weekend at Liberty Hall at the U.S. Hotel Tavern in Hollidaysburg. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of AnEmergencyScene, the show will be headlined by Pittsburgh’s Punchline, making their first Altoona area appearance in 15 years. Also on the bill are reunion performances by two area bands…Like A Movie, reuniting former members Jimmy Mowery and Jeff Wendle, will play together again for the first time since their last show in 2009. And The Hope Fallacy will reunite on stage for their first time since 2019. Also performing that night will be Walkney and Eternal Boy. This show will take place on Saturday, November 29 starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are available for $18 per person in advance, or $20 per person at the door. There will also be a free acoustic pre-show that day between 10 a.m. And 2 p.m. At Boro Coffee in Hollidaysburg, featuring performances by Ethan Eckenroad, The Black Valley Band, Toy and Francis Musaraca. Punchline will discuss the upcoming show and their new album “Somewhere to Land” on the November 16 edition of the “Homegrown Rocker,” and you’ll have a chance to win tickets to the November 29 show.

And a reminder that the “Trick Or FEED Altoona” event will take place next Saturday, October 25, at McGarvey’s in Altoona to raise food and funds for the Altoona Food Bank in time for holiday season. Organized by Hate Grenade, the show will feature performances from Hate Grenade, along with Crowndrop, Assault on 5th, Grampian and the BSXpress.
