A former Blair County attorney, 42-year-old Michael Cohen, was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison yesterday for forging the signature of a U.S. District Judge on fake court documents in 2022. His prison sentence will be followed by two years of probation. The Federal Bureau of Prisons will determine the exact date and location for him to report, with the Loretto facility suggested as a possibility to keep him near family. Cohen pled guilty in July to two felony counts of forgery. He admitted to creating two fraudulent court orders that bore the forged electronic signature of Matthew Brann, chief judge of the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Cohen was disbarred in April of 2023.
