Drugs, Gun Found During Traffic Stop In Huntingdon Co.

A Huntingdon County man has been arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs and a firearm.  Fifty-one-year-old Scott Snyder of Shirleysburg, faces multiple charges after a routine traffic stop in Huntingdon Borough on November 18th.  Huntingdon Borough Police officers observed Snyder’s vehicle fail to use a turn signal while turning onto East Penn Street from Stone Creek Ridge Road.  Upon stopping the vehicle, officers immediately noticed indicators of impairment, including the smell of burnt marijuana, bloodshot eyes, and nervous behavior.  Snyder refused field sobriety testing and was taken into custody.  A subsequent pat-down revealed suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.  A rifle, which he is not legally allowed to own, was also found among his belongings.  Snyder has been placed in the Huntingdon County Prison where bail has been set at $500,000.  A dog found inside the vehicle was taken to the Huntingdon County Humane Society.  The investigation remains ongoing.
