Following Penn State’s 37-10 win over Nebraska, players and fans are publicly supporting Terry Smith to become the permanent head football coach. During the second half of the game, many in the stands chanted Smith’s name while players held up signs that read “Hire Terry Smith.” Smith, who earned his second win as interim head coach, views the team’s on-field performance as his job interview, highlighting his leadership experience, and coaching philosophy. In the meantime, there are reports that Penn State will formally interview Smith for the position, this week. Reportedly, former Penn State quarterback Michael Robinson spoke on behalf of the lettermen saying they’re universally behind Smith.
