A New Paris woman has been charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, and harassment following an alleged attempt to break into the Bedford County Humane Society to retrieve her dog.  According to court documents, 26-year-old Devyn Renee Schwirian was arrested on Thanksgiving Day after police responded to a disturbance call at the shelter. Security footage reportedly showed her forcefully pulling on the front door, which caused the frame to bend.  Upon arrival, police located Schwirian, who claimed her dog had been found, and brought to the humane society, and that she wanted it back.  Earlier, she had been informed she could pick up the dog the following day at 1 p.m.  Schwirian was released from custody after posting bail, and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on December 10th.
