Day Three of the Luigi Mangione evidentiary hearings will take place tomorrow. Court is not in session for the accused killer today, but yesterday Mangione listened as his lawyers fought to bar prosecutors from using certain evidence against him. Altoona Police Officer Joseph Detwiler, one of two officers who arrested Mangione last December at McDonald’s on Plank Road, told the court he knew right away it was the suspect in the Manhattan shooting. During Detwiler’s testimony, the public was shown, for the first time, body camera footage of police approaching Mangione at McDonalds. Mangione was arrested in Pennsylvania, five days after he allegedly gunned down Unitedhealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in midtown Manhattan.
