Incoming Altoona Area School Board member Bryant Giselman has resigned due to health issues, creating a two-year term vacancy the district needs to fill.  Giselman, who had defeated Corinna Griffith for the seat in November’s general election, submitted his resignation via email to Superintendent Brad Hatch on November 30.  The resignation became effective during Tuesday’s reorganization meeting, where Val Mignogna was reappointed as president, and Kelly Irwin Adams as vice president.

Interested individuals in the position must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Reside within the Altoona Area School District
  • Have an interest in serving the community

Letters of interest must be submitted by Friday, December 12, to the district’s administrative office at 1201 8th Avenue.  More information is expected to be advertised on the Altoona Area School District website.
