Evidentiary hearings in the case of accused killer Luigi Mangione continue in New York City. Yesterday’s focus was body cam footage of Mangione’s arrest in Altoona last December, played in the courtroom, with discussion taking place about what was taken from his backpack by Altoona Police. Mangione’s lawyers are trying to stop prosecutors from getting to use certain evidence in the case, including the alleged murder weapon and Mangione’s journal. They are arguing the evidence was illegally seized without a warrant. Both sides are due back in the courtroom this morning at 9:30. Mangione is accused of gunning down Unitedhealthcare CEO Brian Thompson last December outside a Manhattan hotel.
