The Snyder of Berlin snack food manufacturing facility in Berlin, Somerset County, is slated to shut down completely by the end of next year. Reportedly the nearly 100 employees at the facility will lose their jobs by February 13th, although some staff will remain a little longer to help with the final shutdown. The plant is owned by the company, Our Home, and they have not yet released why the company is closing. State Representative Carl Metzgar reportedly is working to try and learn more about the company’s decision. The company has been in operation since 1947.
