wrta-logo-sm

Authorities in Jefferson County are investigating allegations of severe child abuse involving a Brookville area cyber student.  Two women, 51-year-old Amy Billotte, and 37-year-old Sarah Faber, are accused of starving, physically harming, and psychologically tormenting the victim over several months.  According to police, the victim, a teenage boy, lost 20 pounds, was allegedly locked in his room and basement, duct-taped, and subjected to various forms of abuse, including threats and physical assaults.  Reportedly, the investigation began after Brookville High School staff contacted police as they were concerned over the juvenile’s welfare, noting he was severely malnourished and dehydrated.  The child has since been removed from the home, received medical treatment, and is recovering after returning to public school.  Both women are facing over 900 charges that include child endangerment, and false imprisonment.  The women have been  placed in the Jefferson County Prison after failing to post $500,000 cash bail.
