Boot Camp Program in Clearfield Co., To Move To Another Location Within County

The Quehanna Boot Camp Program is to move to SCH Houtzdale.  According to State Rep. Dallas Kephart (R-Clearfield), the program for male inmates is reportedly moving, following the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections’ decision to close the facility by the end of this year.  Rep. Kephart expressed dissatisfaction with the closure, but welcomed the program remaining in his district in Clearfield County.  In September the state announced it was closing both the Quehanna Boot Camp, and Rockview State Prison in Centre County for fiscal reasons, saying the closings would save the state up to $100 million in the future.
