Pre-trial Evidence Hearing In Case Of Luigi Mangione Continues In New York City

mangione-8

The pre-trial hearing involving Luigi Mangione continued yesterday in a courtroom in New York.  Yesterday, Altoona patrolman, George Featherstone, testified about the arrest of  the accused United Healthcare CEO killer.  Featherstone provided testimony about photographing and processing all the items found on Mangione’s body and in his backpack after he was apprehended last December at McDonalds on Plank Road here in Altoona.  Also yesterday, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office signaled it would exclude certain statements Mangione made while in police custody in Altoona immediately following his arrest.  The police lieutenant leading the investigation into the shooting conceded in court that he was unsure if it was legal to record someone without their knowledge in Pennsylvania when he set up recording equipment in the interrogation room that Mangione ended up in, following his arrest.  The hearing continues today and is expected to determine what evidence will be used against Mangione when he goes on trial.
