A 30-year-old Clearfield County man, identified as Derek McCracken, is being held without bail following the discovery of a homemade bomb during an early morning drug raid yesterday. According to state police, the device was located at approximately 6 a.m. while authorities were executing a search warrant for controlled substances at a Highland Street apartment in DuBois. The search was immediately halted until explosives experts confirmed the device was a live bomb. McCracken has been charged with risking catastrophe, having weapons of mass destruction, and other related counts. McCracken is currently incarcerated at the Clearfield County Jail.
