The House narrowly passed a GOP health care bill that does not extend expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies last night with the approval of Pennsylvania Congressman Ryan Mackenzie. Mackenzie was one of four House Republicans who had broken from party leaders and joined with Democrats to force a vote on extending the subsidies, but ultimately voted to pass the bill without them. The bill now heads to the Senate, where it’s not expected to pass. That would leave millions of Americans facing higher health care premiums as Congress leaves for the holiday recess.
