A pre-trial evidence hearing continued yesterday in Lower Manhattan for Luigi Mangione, the man accused of assassinating United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Witnesses continued to the take the stand as the defense team tries to get evidence tossed including the alleged murder weapon, and notes found on Mangione during his arrest in Altoona last December. On Tuesday, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said it would exclude certain statements Mangione made following his arrest. An Altoona police official admitted in court Tuesday that he was unsure if it was legal to record someone without their knowledge in the interrogation room that Mangione was in, following his arrest. Mangione’s pre-trial hearing will continue with the judge having expressed that the proceedings might conclude today.
