A 40-year-old Johnstown man is facing several felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals after a video surfaced on Facebook allegedly showing him torturing his dogs. Arrested was Sydmouth Berwick Jr. According to a criminal complaint, Johnstown Police received two videos in July depicting the abuse. This investigation follows a related June 28th incident involving Berwick’s former girlfriend, who was charged with aggravated cruelty after one of the dogs died from being left outside in the sun without water. While a fugitive warrant has been issued for her arrest, Berwick’s charges have been held for court. His formal arraignment is scheduled for January 27.
