An Altoona woman was arrested on Saturday at UPMC Altoona following an alleged violent confrontation with police and staff. Arrested was 35-year-old Megan Stotler. According to the criminal complaint, hospital staff requested police assistance on the seventh floor due to a family dispute. When officers asked Stotler to leave because of her aggressive behavior, she allegedly began screaming at staff and fled to the fourth floor to avoid arrest. During a struggle, Stotler reportedly kicked an officer and attempted to disarm the offficer by grabbing their firearm. She was eventually taken into custody. Stotler has been charged with felony aggravated assaulted and other related counts. She is in the Blair County Prison where bail was denied as she is currently on bail for two others cases involving resisting arrest and other charges she is facing. Her preliminary hearing is slated for January 7th.
