A 28-year-old unidentified woman is in custody following a violent incident at Penn Highlands-Clearfield on Friday evening, and that’s according to the Clearfield Regional Police Department. Officers arrived at the hospital around 6:30 p.m. after reports surfaced that a patient had physically attacked medical staff. Police state the woman grabbed a nurse by the hair and repeatedly punched her in the face. Two nurses’ sustained injuries during the struggle before hospital staff successfully restrained the woman. Both victims have since received medical treatment. The suspect is currently held at the Clearfield County Jail awaiting arraignment on charges including aggravated and simple assault.
