For Q94’s latest “Local Song of the Week,” we spotlight the title track from the Derek Woods Band’s latest album from 2024, “The Light.” Derek and his band weave a message of hope, and embracing the simple joys of life to lift away from dark times and dark moments. Also appearing and singing on the song is Fred Mascherino, the former singer and guitarist with Taking Back Sunday, who now fronts his own Philadelphia-based project The Color Fred.
