Homegrown Rocker Playlist/Recap 11/23/25 (All-Request)

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the November 23 edition of “The Homegrown Rocker,” which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock (www.q94classicrock.com), and from 10 PM to midnight on 107.1 and 101.3 Jack FM (www.1071jack.fm)!

With Thanksgiving just days away, we thanked the listeners who listen to and support the “Homegrown Rocker” this week with the “All Request Special!” We accepted local song and performer request submissions via the show’s email address throughout this month, and played back those requests during this program’s two hours! Along the way, we updated “Local Music News” and honored a few requests for “Local Music Flashback” older songs from the archive – including a 2002 song by Altoona’s Ten Sent Wings and a 1989 number by Altoona’s Fatal Maim! (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94’s website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on “The Professor’s Classroom,” and then scroll down to “Homegrown Rocker Podcast” and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 112325.)

In Local Music News…

The Central Pennsylvania Music Hall Of Fame has announced its 2026 Induction Class. The inductees will be Harrisburg-based southern gospel performers The Couriers; Reading’s Bill Fisher, who was an original member of Bill Haley and the Comets; York native and founding member of the Dixie Chicks Martie Maguire; Hershey-based nationally-signed indie rock and pop group The Ocean Blue; and Hazleton native and 1960s hitmaker Eddie Rambeau. Harrisburg-based musician, recording engineer and music business professor Jay Kirssin will receive the Hall Of Fame’s annual Lifetime Achievement Award. The induction presentations will take place during the 2026 Central Pennsylvania Music Awards (CPMA’s), which will take place on Wednesday, March 4 at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster.

Altoona-based punk and metal rockers The BSXpress recently announced that bassist Sam Edgar has stepped away from the band to take care of some personal matters. The group will continue on as a trio, and is working on some new music heading into 2026.

And Wanderlost singer and keyboard player Dustin Rainey recently had the honor of having some of his music used in a Florida high school’s musical production. According to Dustin, a friend of his approached him about using his music in the project; and earlier this month, the friend and his students at Timber Creek High School in Orlando, Forida, presented the production, called “Wanderlost,” which ties several of Dustin’s songs into a narrative musical story. The Timber Creek Thespians Company Ensemble performed the production over two nights.
