People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals often suggests replacing Punxsutawney Phil, the Pennsylvania groundhog that’s been predicting the weather for more than a century. Ahead of this year’s Groundhog Day, the group is suggesting a state-of-the-art hologram, or 3D projection, that would give a vocal weather forecast. The catch is that Phil would have to be retired to a sanctuary. PETA argues it would look better, captivate crowds and let Phil relax, since groundhogs don’t like crowds and loud noises. Groundhog Day falls on February 2nd.
