Mark C. Hackett of Clearfield County has been sentenced to 8 to 16 years in state prison for soliciting murder and delivering methamphetamine, with an additional five years for a parole violation. Prosecutors stated the 64-year-old Hackett twice attempted to hire fellow inmates at the Centre County Correctional Facility to kill a confidential informant in his drug case. Charges against his girlfriend, Amanda L. Zortman, who was allegedly involved in the plot, are still pending.
