Steelers’ Mike McCarthy Open To Aaron Rodgers Return

mccrthy

The Steelers officially introduced Mike McCarthey as their 17th head coach yesterday, at a press conference at Acrisure Stadium.  An emotional McCarthy, a Pittsburgh native, had to pause several times while speaking, with his family, and both former and current Steelers players watching in the audience.  The Steelers reached an agreement with McCarthy on Saturday.  McCarthy replaced Mike Tomlin, who stepped down after coaching Pittsburgh for 19 seasons.  During the press conference the Steelers’ new head coach said he is open to reuniting with Aaron Rogers.  McCarthy told the media that Rodgers is “definitely” welcome to come back next season.  The pair spent 13 years with the Packers before McCarthy left to coach the Cowboys.  Rodgers hasn’t made a decision on his future as he considers suiting up for a 22nd season at age 42.
