Two Firefighters Injured After FireTruck Crash While Responding To House Fire

wrta-logo-sm

Two BJW Volunteer Fire Company members were hospitalized after their engine crashed while responding to a house fire in Clearfield County yesterday morning.  En route to a call in Bradford Township, the truck lost control on a downhill stretch of Graham Road and failed to navigate a sharp turn.  The vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree, pinning the driver behind the steering wheel and dashboard.  Emergency crews from neighboring departments successfully freed the driver by prying the door open.  Both the driver and a passenger were transported to an area hospital for treatment and later released.  Reportedly, the fire truck received heavy damage, and now the fire company awaits the next step after meeting with their insurance company.
