Centre County has secured $1 million in federal funding to begin replacing and upgrading emergency radio equipment for approximately 1,400 first responders, including police, fire, and EMS agencies. This funding, obtained through Congressionally Directed Spending, aims to enhance critical communication between personnel in the field, and the 911 center. Full funding of the project will require additional federal or state grants.
