Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is proposing what would be the largest budget ever in the history of the Commonwealth.  Shapiro unveiled a more than 53-billion-dollar budget proposal to the state legislature yesterday that includes big increases for education and housing.  The governor said he wants a tax on legalized adult use cannabis, and taxes on skill games in order to drive new revenue.  Shapiro’s budget includes over half-a-billion dollars more in public education dollars that will be aimed at helping schools that historically have not been funded equally.  The governor is also calling for a 15-dollar statewide minimum wage, to start up at the beginning of 2027, and additional tax contributions for the Pennsylvania Transportation Trust Fund.
