TASD To Seek State Funding For Improvements

The Tyrone Area School District plans to apply for state grants to fund two major facility projects: elementary school boiler and chiller replacements, and high school roof refurbishments.  During a work session yesterday, the district decided to seek Public School Facility Improvement Grant funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority.  The district must submit separate applications for each building.  Grants require a 25% local match, and a $100 application fee.  Bids for the roof are to open next Tuesday, February 10^th.
