Authorities are investigating a tragic accident that claimed the life of a 38-year-old Lilly man, and local firefighter on Sunday evening in Washington Township. According to Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees, Christopher Miller was operating an ATV southbound on Farmers Turnpike when for unknown reasons his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a snowbank, causing him to be ejected into the northbound lane. Emergency officials report that an oncoming vehicle then struck Miller while attempting to maneuver around the initial crash site. Miller, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple blunt force trauma injuries. Miller was a life member of the Portage Volunteer Fire Company.
