Governor Josh Shapiro says ICE detention facilities do not belong in Pennsylvania. The Democrat responded yesterday to the Department of Homeland Security’s purchase of two warehouses in the Keystone State as part of its plan to expand detention centers across the country. The new detention centers are to be located in Berks and Schuykill Counties. Shapiro said the facilities undermine economic growth and compromise people’s safety. He added that he’s been working behind the scenes to see what the state can do to stop them.
