Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the December 7 edition of “The Homegrown Rocker,” which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock (www.q94classicrock.com), and from 10 PM to midnight on 107.1 and 101.3 Jack FM (www.1071jack.fm)!
A returning guest joined us on this week’s program, as Bloomsburg-based rock creator and recording artist Patrick Motto discussed his new album called “Flood.” Patrick talked about the album and its creation, along with his songwriting processes and live show! Along the way, we debuted new songs from Kitchen Teeth and Inside Out, updated “Local Music News,” and dug into the archive to check out a 1973 song by Ohio group Blue Ash (who frequently performed on Altoona and Johnstown stages in the early to mid 1970s) for this week’s “Local Music Flashback!” (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94’s website, www.q94classicrock.com. Noah will be leaving the group to pursue other interests. The parting is a friendly one, and his bandmates Tyler Bollman and Gino Passanita both wish Noah the best going forward.
Sweet Desire is returning to action with a new lineup later this month. New members Guy Mauro and Nolan Darr are joining founding members Kenton Lewis and Josh Simpson, following the departure of former singer Jordan McCaulley and drummer Tery Boore in late summer. The new-look Sweet Desire will make their debut on Friday night, December 26 at Mcarvey’s in Altoona, opening for new Altoona funk and rock group 8-1-Funk.
And after 12 years and more than 680 shows, Centre County-based acoustic duo Hops & Vines have announced they will be stepping away from live performing in 2026. Members Jonathan “Hops” McVerry and Christy “Vines” Clancy aren’t ending the duo, but are stepping away for a needed break and plan to return to stages down the road. The duo has four more performances before the break; performing at The Remedy in Houtzdale this Saturday, Titan Hollow in Bellefonte on December 18, JL Farm & Cidery in State College on December 19, and their last show at Broken Axe Brew House in Lock Haven on January 10.
